When the sun asks for favors when the moon is in debt bring the liars forward and sing their regret doubt was holding hostages with fantasies at the door both twitching for a fight to cancel what was restored and the broken time machine shows me what to see old souls in their rows god never acts, she only knows always ghosting forward we don't defy the dead but play the same tracks with the trails ahead the crime is never perfect when contrition is ripe the punitive derision learns to be alive don't hold the flowers for me don't give away the rose let them grow naturally in the past you know love was always beyond the old blade I used love is when forgiving recites the names too and the broken time machine shows me what to see old souls in their rows god never acts, she only knows

Scotch called me friend whiskey was my brother vodka owed me something beer always had my number to call on old friends I was drunk and out of it voices bouncing off mirrors in my back pocket who wants to stop dancing and put holes in the box when the light sneaks in where the shadows are lost because Scotch called me friend whiskey was my brother vodka owed me something beer always had my number art never suffers as much as it touches yourself and learning to last until the pleasure is felt I run through the house like a child in the chase stories in my head trying to fill the space but Scotch calls me friend whiskey is my brother vodka gave me something beer always has my number but even if it's old hat even if I go wrong I am good I feel good for once Scotch calls me friend whiskey is my brother vodka gave me something beer always has my number

sleep on it 02:42
I'll eat the rats digest the depression the witching hours will stop confessing scatter myself on four winds play for keeps and come back again I'll stop drinking so much only to disappear there's a turnabout phrase we hope you're still here if no news is bad news if no blues is all blues can I sleep on it can I make it true scatter my dreams behind closed doors turn on all the lights and listen, listen more I'll give them names put them in a cage and tell them stories there is no other way nothing needs to be free nothing needs a master can I sleep on it can I put it past you

stains on the sidewalk I'm counting my steps not trying to touch them or make a new mess all this heat is depressing call it nature and nurture someone has gone missing stay out with the searchers home is a volcano knowing how you're gonna die tell me the point of surviving when everyone else needs to survive heading back from the park the buzzer an eruption i should feel happier i have turned productive but the daylight is firm in a commitment to ugliness waving hands to take over the thirstiness in all of us home is a volcano knowing how you're gonna die tell me the point of surviving when everyone else needs to survive i just type on a keyboard to alleviate some kind of fear all i do has a tangible effect on the people that are here my answers are only creatures without any useful memories my stories are just wastrels they have all left the sea

Shenandoah 03:53
Oh Shenandoah, I longed to see you, Away you rolling river. Oh Shenandoah, I longed to see you, Away, I'm bound away 'Cross the wide Missouri. Oh Shenandoah I'm getting older Go Away you rolling river Oh Shenandoah I have no answers Away, I've gone away over the wide Missouri Oh Shenandoah The sun is burning All Away your rolling river Oh Shenandoah You're disappearing Away, you've gone away Over the dry Missouri Oh Shenandoah, I long to hear you, Far away, you rolling river. Oh Shenandoah, Just to be near you, Far away, far away. 'Cross the wide Missouri. Oh Shenandoah I gave my promise away, you rolling river Oh Shenandoah Please keep me honest Away, I've turned away from the wide Missouri

Along the barren woods I learned how to see bright persimmon falling from the autumn trees By the fruitless labor now losing the old leaves patterned tracks in the fledgling snow The sun will wander close along its westward reach as the dimming drifts down across the following feet I will tarry long in the leaning swing bright persimmon falling from the autumn trees

my consent 02:46
Your sneaking hand is a just hand in my pants while I sleep it tickles me awake on the air mattress near your feet and I let you feel around pretending to be dead half terrified, half amazed this is the first time I am having sex you still come up in the fantasies where friends cross boundaries a man lets you know you did something lonely with my consent we compared the sizes of our milk white bodies like mirrored children inside a fun house picked out by your faith so desperate and horny the worst things we did trading blowjobs and sodomy you just come up in the fantasies scenarios where cartoons get fucked and a man is someone who lets you know you did something lonely with my consent years later at a party another friend kissed me in my sleep all drunk and sloppy he said he was too cold and for some reason I told him no but I can't go back to my consent

about

My friend Mikey put me up to producing an entire album by myself. This is the result. It's called "Money in the Basement". The reason being is Karen Carpenter of Carpenters fame said "the money is in the basement" in regards to her singing so low. Most of the songs on this album utilize my lower register to its extremes. No audio editing was done to my voice.

I was heavily inspired by Paul Robeson's singing for this album. A lot of songs feature prominent baritone singing.

I'd like to thank Mikey and Cameron for listening to me as I told them about album progress. I'd also like to thank all my friends and family for their support. This was a long time coming and at times a huge pain. I think I got what I wanted out of the album.
